Why have several of the library shelves been emptied?

We have been shifting and "weeding" the print collection. When books become outdated, not ever used, etc. we do have to get rid of some. We also moved the print collection of National Geographic magazines and the Southwest Historical journal from the shelves to the computer area so they catch more people's eye. We should end up with a bit of an empty area next to the collaborative study area where we'll put more seating or maybe even another study cubicle (closed like a room).
